Ability Works recipient of Toyota’s expertise

Toyota’s Continuous Improvement team, led by Toyota Production System (TPS) specialist Jack Diep, has contributed pro bono services to Ability Works and used TPS tools to streamline and organise work for our customer Transurban. A key goal was to increase the number of jobs through job carving and create employment for team members with complex needs. We went from 7 jobs per day to 11-14 jobs per day. Access to the work was opened for those with literacy challenges, using social robot Matilda, who after reading Transurban mail, instructed employees on next steps. Team leader, Mark Golotta said Toyota’s contribution helped him feel “Valued, organised, utilised and in control”.
